calling any one from missouri

Welcome Welcome ! What kind of birds do you have????

Currently my mom has some hens; two Buff Orpingtons (one is their very old nanny-hen), an Ameraucana, and two Delawares. She's thinking of eventually getting a Buffy rooster and hen for breeding. I'm not the one with any birds (yet), but I'm on a fact-finding mission about guineafowl.

I'm in Lebanon, MO and I just registered. :)

Yup. A lot of us have guineas - and there's tons info on everything under the sun on this site - plus a lot of really nice folk.

I had to push the button on those Chocolate silky Ameracauna project eggs.
She's got a second dozen if anybody around me happened to be interested in picking them up *hint*hint*hint. Would give us a good local base.....

what you wanting to know we may be able to help?
I've got a thread posted here with some questions.

Is there a thread I can read about them? I'll be sure to pass it along to her!

If you just go up top in the search function and type in guineas you'll get a ton to select from. In the advanced search there is ability to choose the guinea forum.
If there's anything in particular just add in keywords.
I swear, your eyes can fall out from researching scads of good info on here!

I saw your quest for guinea information. I tried raising guineas last summer in hopes of releasing them and enjoying a tick free zone, the deer on our place are bringing in lots of those pesky critters. I released the guineas in daylight hours for three months and then tried to see if they could make it outside. Test was a failure, the guinea needs protection from predators for as long as they want to return to the barn. too many died too soon. I have had lyme disease symptoms twice and don't want it again. So keep me posted on what you learn about guineas.
