calling any one from missouri

Does any one have silkie eggs? I have one black silkie. My other little chick died last year right after hatching. The lady I got the few eggs last year got rid of her rooster right after giving me the eggs. Very frustrating. I wanted more. They don't even have them available to order from Dickey Bubs or Orscheln's.

I live in Beaufort.

St. Francois County, Southeast Missouri here! My husband and I just moved to Missouri from Southern Illinois about five months ago. We have a hobby farm where we raise chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and goats. We love Missouri, its a beautiful state!

Welcome. We have a little hobby farm of chickens and myo goats. I am planning on finding someone that has guinea hatching eggs to incubate this Spring. We live in the woods and the ticks, along with many other insects were horrific last year. The guineas will be free-ranging with my 50+ chickens and the goats, eating all the bugs and insects they want. :) I currently have 8 bantam chicks brooding in the living room where I also incubated them. I open up the lid and my cats go and sleep with them underneath the heat lamp bulb. They are just starting to get enough courage to fly down from the lip of the brooder and onto the floor, so each night when I close the lid for bed, my floor gets a scrubbing. I have the cleanest living room floor each morning for about 4 weeks, each year. :)

Does any one have guinea eggs or know someone that has guinea eggs for incubating?

I forgot to mention the guardian and protector of all my animals - Buddy, my GP. Just realized, I must take him for granted and he is the biggest lover of them all. Has thwarted coyotes, diving hawks and many more predators. He sleeps with my goats - which he has always done since he was six weeks old. When he was eight weeks old a coyote was coming out of the woods straight for my goats. Buddy chased him up deeper into the woods, came walking down and herded the goats further away and then went back on the hill, facing where the coyote had disappeared and sat there watching for 45 minutes, and would look back to check on the goats. At night, he and the goats are in large fenced enclosure and I have Nite Guards blinking in all directions, even facing the sky, on that and the chicken house and tractors, so nothing gets near. It doesn't mean he doesn't bark sometimes the whole night hearing deer, owls, rabbits, foxes, skunks (besides smelling them) and what ever else happens to make noise in the night.

Hi! In the south KC area. Looking to expand my flock, and I was wondering if anyone knew of layers for sale, instead of chicks. We've gotten chicks the last two years, but I'd kind of like to get some hens, or good sized pullets at least. Any suggestions?
