Have a happy Easter!!

over here in the north we had frost on the ground this morning and it was a pretty good heavy frost as if we were going into winter not spring/summer.
How lovely 18 yummy eggs =)

My tree order came in so I need to plant before the next rain.

Chicks are hatching, I will soon have what I need for the year.

Found another buyer for eggs.

He is Risen!

Hope everyone has a Blessed and Happy Easter!

I'll be working on getting onion sets, spinach and radish seed in the ground this afternoon and working on the coop a bit. The chicks are three weeks old now and starting to look like little chickens other than little fluff balls. The grass is green and the fruit trees are budding up (I'm hoping they survived the freeze we had Friday night). DH and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on Friday.

Hello my fellow Missourians

Got a question for ya all! Not sure if we should be concerned with one of our girls eggs have looked realm weird the past 2 days, it looks like it is wrinkled (only way I can think to describe it) and then she didn't use the nesting box the other day, she laued her egg on the floor of the coop. Which was a little weird for us, since she was the 1st one to use the box

Egg binding can happen with young birds if they have a particularly large egg. It also can happen if the birds are laying soft eggs that they can't push out.
About all you can do is not push them to lay too early and make sure their calcium/phosphorus/D3 is sufficient and balanced.

A strange wrinkled egg can happen from time to time especially with young birds. Whenever I've gotten them, for some reason they have usually been floor eggs.

Microchick, Happy 8TH Hope you have many more ! Cherry trees looking good and got the garden in today. We got some rain, but it's been so dry it wasn't enough to stop the planting of tomatoes or bell peppers. My 4 chicks are 4 days old and doing fine. The older girls are laying good and Royals baseball starts Monday life is good. Oh, Lady K, I see CC responded back to ya, Best of luck
