At 25 weeks I finally had all 16 hens lay yesterday. Kind of exciting since last month they actually paid for all of their expenses and feed themselves. 

What breed of hens do you have???

you can pull up the symptoms on the internet. The problem is that if you ignore the symptoms the first time around they come back a second time and with a vengeance. We have all kinds of ticks on my place, that is one of the reasons I raise chickens. Guineas would be better but I don't like them as much, maybe next year. Lyme disease is spread by the deer tick, the smallest of them all and impossible for me to see without strong glasses.

They're just some production reds I picked up from the local feed store, Heartland Hatchery supplies them.
