@SueT

We had a true pink one bloomed this morning... did your’s bloom yet?

I was wondering about that, I didn’t look at the radar this morning but was expecting to have storms here at dawn... but it’s clear here so far.... :idunno... must be moving slower than the weather folks predicted....

We have peonies blooming... so of course that means heavy rains to come... we’ve decided that clouds hate seeing peony flowers and feel compelled to beat them into the ground...

I haven't ever planted flowers here due to struggles with weather. I stick to veggies, and this year I only have a small amt. of lettuce and radishes so far. I don't feel like gardening in the mud. Any flowers we have were planted by my late MIL decades ago.

Many of ours ( including the peonies) came with the place as well...

We’ve yet to do anything other than porch ‘maters ... because I need to build some deer proofing before trying to plant much more in the way of veggies... that and we mooch off family that grow gardens and have surplus ;)

Maybe this year you should plant rice...:rolleyes:

Here are some pics from past 2 years---I put my veggies (at least the small plants) in cages, and let the chickens roam free to pick bugs and weeds. There are cattle panels around to keep deer out. The chickens (and our bountiful wild rabbits) don't bother certain plants like squashes, peppers, tomatoes, beans, okra. Yes, the chickens eat tomato fruit, but I have plenty extra, and they only get what they can reach.

Right now, it's such a muddy mess, I'm wondering how I can get it to this stage again....

I tore down my two raised bed planters this spring and made into 3 as the space in the middle was just piled with junk.

I still need to get the varmint protection up... if it don't rain and the creek don't rise I'll get something up today and that is from last week all three are full of plants even got my seeds to sprout and planted them.

I got the landscape timbers from Menards and if you go to the lumber desk and get 20 the price was only $2.50 each.
