calling any one from missouri

LOL ..

We will be doing a double feeding of hay tomorrow,so if it gets too bad the cows should be alright till we can get to them. The only thing I'm worried about now is the chicks that will be shipped out from Cackle Wed. being on a cold postal truck and hoping I get them Thur. a.m. like I should ... I hope their wrong about the Ice,really don't care for Ice...
Everyone be safe !!!
Hope your chicks make it ok!! I am actually going to Cackle tomorrow to get mine, they suggested to get them late tomorrow as opposed till Thursday when the storm is supposed to be the worst.

I hope we don't get the ice either, the snow I can deal with but the ice gets just stupid!

Talking maybe a half inch of ice tommorow night. Making noise like the ice storms of '07. It looked like a good third of the trees shattered - like bombs fell. Some were out of power for almost 3 weeks. Not but a half hour east of Lebanon/Cackle here. Bit of running and back home by lunch to hunker down with wood laid in the wood stove to sit it out. Cancelled appointments Thursday.

So yeah, grab your babies Wed and sit this dance out. Got a feeling it's gonna be oogly out.

I hope not...hate ice. Snow I can handle; don't like it, but can handle it.

OOGLY lmao....I haven't heard someone use that term forever !! I am sure hoping every bodies chicks get to them that are in the storm belt. I got my big girls ready for the weather yesterday, I am still a little worried as there are only 8 of them now in a big coop, I hope they do okay as I don't heat it at all, but have a tank heater in their water so it does freeze up. The EE girls will still go out and forage in the snow but the BO will hang out in the coop at the feeder lol. I am sure looking forward to a whole batch of the EE's and looking forward to seeing what the roo's will be like. Yeah it's chick day!!! I am like a little kids this morning :)

Well to and from Cackle and all the EE babies are home and tucked in! I am overwhelmed from the cuteness lol These are some chubby healthy chicks, very nice!! The variety is amazing in the group, I will be taking pics in the morning, I want to let them just be for the evening.

Chickie pics! Chickie pics! We want chickie pics!

Dosen't sounds like it's going to get brutal cold at least - of course then we'd get snow instead of sleet and freezing rain.
Now talking stuff coming down til Thurs evening. Get much ice on lines and trees with those 30mph winds power will come down. Of course I bought C batteries instead of D's I need for the latern~!

Oh well! Have headgear flashlights if I end up hundled under blankies reading.

Everybody else prepared OK? If you're on well might wanna leave water in the tub in case electric goes out. Electric heated water dishes and the outside faucet will freeze up with no power and the critters gotta have water. Nice to be able to flush too............

Be safe !!!!!!

I don't know wether to hope for a school day or not.

Certainly hope for no ice.

I'll probably leave the chickens cooped up if they don't call off school...if I'm home, then I can let them out if weather improves.

Edited to add: Jefferson City Public Schools just called off school for tomorrow...other central MO schools soon to follow.
