calling any one from missouri

Yep retrievers. All about training though because poodles are very intelligent dogs. They live to please their family and cherish a strong loving bond with their people. They are definitely not Livestock guard dogs because poodles are all about people but they are very good around the chickens when doing chores or just hanging out watching the chickens peck the ground. Sadly yes they love the chicken poo too

If you did raise one as a LGD I don't think they would be very happy at all, they are very dependent on people interaction. One of the reasons I love them so much is the level of devotion for their people and loyalty. Some people like a more independent dog so a poodle is not for you if you want them to just exist and do their own thing apart from you.

I have a coop inside my 20' x 20' shed in one corner. The roof is 12' at the peak. Shed not insulated and no electric in it .Coop is just chicken wire and 2x4. I'm new to chicken ranching, First time going thru a winter. Do I need to do anything different, are the hens going to be ok ? I have six hens, Two of each Black Star, Orpington and Brahma.

Personally, I think that wiuld be enough. They put on quite a bit of feathers for winter if you let them. If you heat the coop they won't because they don't have need for them... But that is my opinion. :D
