calling any one from missouri

Same here maddawg. I think it's supposed to get in the 40s here today with a gradual warming trend which means let the thaw begin! Our gravel road gets pretty pathetic for awhile during spring and then there is that delightful Missouri gumbo that the yard sports instead of grass for about a week but I'll take it over snow and ice any day of the week.

We went into Kirksville yesterday and I started buying what I need to finish up the brooder, meaning a big bag of pine shavings and a variety of bug lights. I have to clean out and sanitize the brooder today so it is properly clean and aired out. We used koroplast to build the box for the chicks and designed it so it has a clear polycarb front so we can be entertained. I plan to post a pic when the chicks arrive in about three weeks.

I can't believe it's almost time for them to arrive. Seems like it was only yesterday that I ordered them in stead of January!

Idk when its 95 degrees and you are hot and burning up with the ridiculous humidity we have here you can only take so much off and still be hot, I can layer up for days and stay warm no matter how cold it gets, 25 is fine for me.

I got a lot of hair though...

In the summer I will work outside all day at work and then come home and work outside some more, In the garden or whatever. Pretty much no mater what the temps. We had 66 yesterday. Wow What a great day. Soooo ready for spring.....

I am the the type of person who will take 95 over 25 any day. Cold makes my bones hurt, hot makes my muscles hurt.(overindulge in work, which I like to do)

I'd be happy if it never got over 70.
I'm much happier in the opposite situation. When it gets cold, one can put on more clothes. When it gets hot, one can take off all their clothes and they're still hot.

I would much rather it be in the 70s always.I am more tuned in to work in those type of conditions.Like today I rakes the yard so grass will grow, and more dust baths are in contact.I also got boxes out yesterday added ashes to them for the hens to bath in.I also got out a air mask, and goggles and spreaded Natural guard around the coop inside, both today and yesterday.
