calling any one from missouri

Sorry for your losses. I hate when they die of unknown causes, but I hate predators too. I just lost my oldest hen tonight among others to something. I guess no free-ranging after work for a while. Geez, you'd think 6 roosters would be good for something besides tearing up my hens and eating the layer's pellets.CG

Hello all! New to BYC, new to raising chicks as well. I live in southwest Missouri and am a stay at home mom to two boys, aged 2yrs and 3 months. Have 2 dogs, a cat, a horse, some fish and now 31 baby chicks! They're 10 days old and I've had them for a week. Bought them from someone in it solely for money, didn't even bother to ask his egg source what they were, but said they were mostly pure breeds some mixs. Urg, people! I'm having a blast watching them grow! And if my sexing abilities (i learned from the best, tips from BYC) are even close, I got lucky with 20 girls and 11 boys :)

Welcome to Missouri thread too! Chooks are fun!

welcome :frow  with 20 hens you should have plenty of eggs

That I should, and a variety of colors as well! Thanks :)

yes!  Used to breed and raise them, now mostly look at them...LOL

My horse was an accidental foal of my good friends wild mustang mare and his renter's abandoned Appy stud! You wouldn't know it, he doesn't have a spot on him, haha! :)
