If you go to your local farm supply store they might have a spray call Nixall wound and skin solution. It works remarkably well at preventing infection and speeding the healing process. It's also available online at Nixall.com
I'm not a salesman for them, but I've seen it work on cattle. It works on all livestock.

Is that like the silver spray stuff that is a spray cover for wounds I use on my horses?

@ChickenCanoeyeah, but be careful it can really cause contention with neighbors. I had to get the sheriff involved a couple of years ago when I told a neighbor after their dog killed a pig that I would shoot it if it came on my land again. They wanted to argue that they lived in the country and their dog should be able run free and if my horse ever got out they would shoot it if I shot their dog. They could not see that the two things did not correlate.

You're right. But, animals aren't allowed to roam on other people's property. (
How do cats get a pass - but that is a conversation for another day.)
That's why I try to get a record at animal control. Even they don't want to cooperate.
My next door neighbor has a pack of malamute/husky crosses that get out and love to kill my chickens. She has paid for them several times but I don't want to sell chickens like that. The first time, she told me she wouldn't have blamed me if I had killed them. The last time, I told her it was the last time they were coming home. She said, "What do you want me to do?" I said, "I want you to keep them on your property."
I had another neighbor's pair of husky's come harass my birds. I caught them and held them for animal control. Animal control called and said they found the owner and they can come by to pick them up.
I said, "No way." I wanted them picked up and a fine assessed. Because the next time, when I shot the dogs, I wanted to have a paper trail. The person at animal control was appalled. I asked her if she was aware of Missouri state law about dogs worrying livestock and my right to kill the dog. She was unaware. I asked to speak with her supervisor, who luckily was aware of the law and he said he would send a truck right over to pick up the dogs.

A couple years ago there was a case on one of these TV Judge shows where someone had killed a dog that had attacked his chickens. The plaintiff was the person with the dead dog and was suing for the cost of the dog as well as pain and suffering to the tune of thousands of dollars. The judge heard both sides and simply said the dog owner had no case because the dog had entered the defendants property and killed his chickens. That was it.

That wouldn't hurt my feelings. If someone lets their animals run loose, they are at fault if it gets hit.

It is not like I want to kill anything. I just want them to be aware of how serious it is so they make some effort at restraint. They never even acknowledged my loss or paid for it. Besides though most of my animals are considered livestock many of them are pets or like that four month old pig a financial loss. The only cat I have outside is a feral that I feed at the barn. I trapped her once and gave her shots and had her fixed. I still have the scar to prove it. I would not try to catch her, but she does not go far. She is totally feral, but she knows where she has a warm place and food.

Neighbors that have no appreciation for your property are a problem.
