Is anyone going to the Ozark Empire Fair? We are tentatively planning to go Sat. morning as that is the poultry show day. Looking forward to that and getting some Pineapple Whip!

The state fair poultry exhibit is huge. I think it is next week. We decided not to go that far this year, it's in Sedalia.

Well there are all the other types of livestock, food and craft competitions, displays, carnival, entertainment, etc. But I go for the chickens!
However unlike our small county fairs, you have to pay to get in. And the senior discount is only for people over 80 ! When we expressed incredulity over this last year, they let us in for free, just charged for parking. Oh yes, it costs to park, too....

Also this week, for those in SW MO, is the Crawford county (KS) fair in Girard. It's a delightful old fashioned county fair held on a shady fairgrounds. Poultry show day is this Thursday. They have both 4H and open categories.
The 4H kids make and sell ice cream, it's fun...
