calling any one from missouri

DH's dad bought it when he was a kid, and he grew up driving it. Here's a pic of me using it for brush cutting (sometimes he allows me to drive it):

Green boots on an orange tractor?!!!... that’s a farm fashion faux pas... no wonder he only lets you drive it sometimes....;)

Actually it was those crisp new tires that grabbed my eye... :love... tire envy!

Besides being old and worn can you tell what’s wrong with my tires?

Yep! they’re on backwards...

In theory it’ll help you be able to back out of soft spots that you might get into ... particularly when the tires are old and worn...

Sometimes they put them on that way to help with a front end loader too... if there’s a lot of that kinda work being done... which is a lot of backing up

I’m hoping to get through the summer and then buy it some new shoes this winter... at which point I’ll flip them back around.

Do you fill your back tires with alcohol? When I got new shoes for the Ferguson F40 I drove it one day with air only then took it to my favorite truck and tractor tire store and had them fill em up. I put the tires on myself because I had some new used rims to replace the rusty ones that were on the tractor and it's pretty easy to change that size tire.

yep they’re filled but I’m not sure if it’s antifreeze or alcohol or what...

I’ll likely have the guy in town mount them for me and fill them with whatever is recommended... I think I’m going to need new rims too...

One of them is a bit low right now so I might jack it up today and see if I can get some air in it....

It has wheel weights too... but the liquid ballast in the tires helps a lot when using a loader...particularly since it’s 2wd

It used to be calcium chloride and that's what ate my rims, now they use alcohol.

She looks a bit rough but the engine only has 50 hours since I did a major and I mean major overhaul. I even put a new used block in her because the original one was cracked. I had to drive up to Cuba to get that. I need to put the hinge on the hood one day...

I mostly use her to maintain the driveway and if we get deep snow I put a grader blade on and blade the snow off my drive and the road up to the next road. The rims are freshly painted the original color as is the dash, most got painted Massey red over the years like this one did.

I just took this a moment ago… as I went to pull the tractor over so I could change slip clutch pads on the cutter... guess I’ll go do something else since she’s using that spot at the moment...

I think I have this one kind of spoiled ... earlier I was working by the coop and she walked up about 15 yards away to see if she could help.

That’s probably what is in mine then because the rims are pretty rough ...

If you were in Cuba you were in my neck of the woods!

Yea there is a used tractor part place way out off the north side of the hwy IIRC, can't remember the name now. Just looked it up so much for memory it's Walt's Tractor Parts in Mexico. We have been through Cuba a few times on the bike going up to Swiss Meat Co. for some brats. Any excuse for a bike ride is a good one.
