Wow, JT, thanks for all of those great ideas! I've been to Johnson shut ins and Elephant Rocks state Park ( when I was a teenager). I've been in and around Fredericktown, but have never heard of The Depot! Of course this was when I was a teenager. My parents had property of the St. Francois River. I loved it down there!
My hubby loves trains so we will definitely have to take a drive down there and eat at that restaurant! Do you suggest lunch or dinner? Several of the other places sound very nice too. It's amazing that I've lived here almost my entire life and there are so many places I've never been or even heard of before!

Oh I forgot Rocky Falls Shut Ins which is near Winona on NN off of H it's a great place to have a picnic lunch near the water fall.

In Fredericktown is the best restaurant in the area called The Depot and it's actually in the old Fredericktown train depot.

In Caledonia is the Old Village Mercantile Store and that is a neat place to see.

Of course the big attraction in this area is JT's automagic chicken house inside of Chicken Fort Knox.

Saturday after 5pm the prime rib is great, actually everything they cook is great.

In Farmington the 12 West Bar & Grill is also a great place to eat.

We ride motorcycles and are always searching for places to go and things to do.

It was 51º here at sunrise.
My broody is on day 20! She's still in w the flock and she's in an elevated nest, so I must be vigilant tomorrow. Assuming they hatch, I plan to bring them all down into a separate pen in the coop. I have candled on day 17, the 4 eggs seem to be on schedule according to photos in other threads.... I've already checked on her about 20 times today.....

Well, we have a pip, and loud peeping--broody was off nest briefly. I wish she'd stay on at this point! It's a big 24" wide box, I guess I could lock her in.....I'm concerned about the big hens interfering.....
