Looks like a break from the rain here in SEMO for a few days...

It’s a perfect morning here!

And we have a broody hen (chicken) sitting on some duck eggs... 5 of which have pipped and are working on getting themselves hatched today.

Good morning everyone...I am in Florida w my Mom, brother, and sister. Hot and muggy and tropical-ish here. I flew out of Springfield yesterday. Plane was an hour late, but I made my connection just barely. I am not used to mobs of people!
There are swans and ducks, geese, etc. on the lake here, I am looking forward to photographing them ....

Oh yay! I think I remember you having pics of shelducks last year... looking forward to the pictures.

Finally made it back home today. We had such a great road trip clear out to Tennessee. . stopped and saw a couple things in Nashville on Thursday, then met up with @Fields Mountain Farm and @WVduckchick at fields house and stayed until Monday. We had a blast just chatting and lounging eating and playing with critters
Stopped and saw alley mills on our way home and got that fried hot dog and ice cream JT recommended.
We are wiped out now.

I am having trouble getting pictures to upload here. . I don't know what's up with that but it's frustrating!
If I get it figured out I'll post some later.
Guess there were some storms while we were gone. .part of our fence is on the ground.
And my baby ducks aren't babies anymore. . it's unbelievable how much they grow in a week!

We gots’ us some baby ducks this morning!

Dang they sure took their sweet time to poke out of those eggs!

I took a quick peek under their chicken momma and saw 5, I think that’s all there will be ... two other eggs seemed like nothing was happening with them yesterday.

They’re one day early ... tomorrow was day 28.

The weather is saying a high of 90 here today... that’s gonna feel like Florida after all the cool weather we’ve had! At least SueT isn’t missing out on any thing

Im only butting in on this thread to say We had a fantastic time with you all and how happy we are that y'all had such a good time too!

My sister has ducks and I had a broody hen... so there wasn’t really a choice, lol

It’s my fault really, I raised ducks when we were kids and my sister nursed a couple back from the brink of death that I’d given up on... I think one bit her and gave her duck fever

These are blue Swedes ... I’m going to be disappointed if they don’t quack like this:
