calling any one from missouri

There's been a German Shepherd lurking around. I came home today to find her in the yard. I think maybe she isn't full grown. She hasn't hurt the chickens so far. They seem curious about her.
I don't know what to think yet, no conclusions.

Will he/she let you get close enough to read her tags? Maybe you can find out who she belongs to that way. ( and they can come get her)

not quite, but I will. It looks like a rabies tag. She may belong to a neighbor who lets her run loose, I've sent an email to neighbor who knows everyone and their dogs. I would be pleased to have a dog that doesn't chase chickens, though. We'll see what happens.

The tag is a rabies tag from Nevada (MO.) I am going to wait and see for a while. This dog is really skinny and skittish. I don't know if I want to rush to return her to someone who may be abusing/neglecting her. At least wait to hear from my neighbor .....

Don't blame ya.
Could be she's been lost for a while too though. :hmm The vet should be able to pull up the owner by the number on the tag.
