The tag is a rabies tag from Nevada (MO.) I am going to wait and see for a while. This dog is really skinny and skittish. I don't know if I want to rush to return her to someone who may be abusing/neglecting her. At least wait to hear from my neighbor .....

Sue, I’ll relate a quick story as food for thought...

When I was a kid my grandparents had a stray white German Sheppard show up... it was very pretty and well behaved so they kept it...

A few months later it mauled my little sister...

Fortunately she was able to get away from it, but she needed a lot of stitches to her head and came millimeters from loosing her eye...

The dog was put down and tested negative for rabies and my sister didn’t really have any long term problems thankfully ...

My point really is that we never know what a stray dog has suffered, or what might set it off...

Again just food for thought.
