My mind works on stuff in the background...

I was listening to an old Pouges concert ( Irish/punk) and they had a reggae band on to do a song ( it was the 80s?)

and the ‘happy vibe’ clicked... and I remembered a few lines of lyrics... that br

but @SueT s version was a (better) lady singer...

But... it’s late... the owl is back, the cat gave up... and I have things to do early tomorrow... hopefully Sue can point us to that song
Sleep tight zarkie.:hugs

All but 4 stayed on the roost so at 4:30 am I went out and put the remaining 4 up there. Walked out into the chicken yard and a barred owl must have been in the tree next to the house and it scared the crap out of me.

@jthornton-- so your chicks had PDZ as the only 'bedding' from the very beginning? They don't eat it, or does it matter if they do? We are almost ready w our mini coop, and I still haven't decided on whether to use PDZ or shavings. We usually have make lot of shavings and they are used to shavings, so I'm leaning that way. But I like the Zen aspect of a PDZ floor.

They started out with shavings in the brooder then I gradually started adding PDZ and removing the shavings. I had PDZ outside the brooder from early on so they could see it and when I opened the door they had no issues walking on it.

Just one chicken chick in the incubator this morning the other birds are still working on hatching... tomorrow is their actual hatch day, so imnot too worried yet...

but I was sure hoping to see the one out of its shell this morning... since it’s been pipped for at least 24 hours... it’s still alive though ... I can see it’s beak ... hopefully this little chicken will talk them into coming out to play
