Yeah I read that they only live 2-3 years, I’m hoping they’ll self-seed and spread. I see the native red one in small colonies along the river, often growing in rock crevices.

We have been trying to find our new home in MO for 2 years now. Part of why I joined this lovely forum is to learn more about having chickens in MO. Also to hopefully learn more about transporting our flock when we finally do get a place. We have every intention of taking our ladies and gentleman with us.

I quit getting notifications again for this thread
I hatcwhen that happens. I have such a hard time finding it again.
I’m in Arizona visiting my brother and his wife. We are going to go on the Verde Canyon railroad trip today and hopefully check out the Arizona worm farm tomorrow. Then we fly back home on Friday

My sister visited from VA, and we went down to the Neosho National Fish Hatchery. They raise several common species for restocking lakes, such as rainbow and brown trout, but also rare species such as the pallid sturgeon. They have some of these prehistoric fish swimming in big tanks in the visitor center and an entire building just for raising sturgeon.

When we got home, there was a news story about another rare creature just discovered in their spring, the Bristly cave crayfish. One had washed out of the cave during all the recent rain

@SueT We’ve been trying to buy a place in the ozarks. Hard to find decent grazing land with a house/barns etc in this current market.
