Are they nanking(sp?) Cherries? How do they do here? Did you have to do anything special for them when you planted them?Beautiful here today too, early daffodils showing off, pie cherry bush starting to bloom. Have no idea what next week's weather looks like. Do I want to know?
Mixed breeds. I have speckled Sussex hens in one coop but I don’t remember what the rooster is. ( not speckled Sussex). In the other coop I have 2 roosters ( again I don’t remember what they are) and the hens are black sex link, EE’s and barnyard mixes. But all are chicken eggs. What kind(s) of eggs?
I did not plant them. I came here in 2010; this house was built in 1960 or so and I have no idea how old this cherry tree/ bush is, or what kind. I assumed it is a Queen Anne, but don't know for sure, snd since my MIL passed away in 2019 I'll never know. Are they nanking(sp?) Cherries? How do they do here? Awesome thank you. Cherry plants have literally thousands of cultivars so if you don't know it could be hard to figure out unless it's a very common variety. Most grow in tree form of course but there are a good amount that grow to a bush, I've never grown the latter but have been contemplating throwing some berry bushes in and maybe some nuts. I'm actually surprised to hear it gets all that water and still thrives with our heavy clay Missouri soil, you just might have better soil than me though, my yard is literally just rocks with some clay lolI did not plant them. As for its care ... the chickens love it and hang out underneath it for shade, so it's well cultivated and fertilized and that's all I know. Oh, and it's snuggled up next to the well house so it's well watered, as rain pours off the well house onto it. What else? Oh, it's on the south side of the building, for what that's worth, so it's sheltered from strong north winds at least. Don't know how helpful all this is, but it's all I've got!
Rocks, check. Clay, check. But there's also some sand there too, so maybe that's the saving grace.Awesome thank you.
