This is amazing! If it works it might make a good article. It might not be the cure that works for everybody, but a suggestion worth trying, and therefore, worth sharing. I certainly enjoyed reading it!

Well the boys have only just begun to come into their hormones. I knew what getting straight run chicks would mean, and I am going to have to deal with the cockerels until they are gone, which I’m looking forward to and dreading at the same time. I do get attached to them or to know them as individuals and care about them.
These will be my last chicks so no need to raise another rooster.
I’m not one to write an article, but I’ll put in an anecdote here and there. I think it’s pretty common knowledge on BYC that the flock knows how to raise a rooster better than humans do, but not everyone has that option, as we see over and over again.

Tomorrow Is the Hilltop Poultry Swap in Reeds MO. It’s off of I 44. They say there are usually 40 -90 sellers, so it sounds good sized. I hope to go check it out. Probably won’t be selling my male chicks yet, I’ll wait for the Lamar Swap in 2 weeks.

The Hilltop swap was well attended, we stopped by around 8. There were a lot of roosters for sale, I’d likely still be sitting there at noon waiting to sell mine in the glaring sunshine.

There were 3 pups in there, the other 2 were tri-color.
I assume they were Cavaliers, I’ve always wanted one. But I quickly walked away….

Yeah.. i need to sell or process at least 3 drakes before fall breeding season gets going in full swing.
