We've got at least 6 inches of snow from this last storm. I'm glad I use plastic over my hoop run in the winter. It gives them some outside time when they are avoiding wind and snow.

More snow forecast for Friday and bitterly cold temperatures.

We got about 1” snow. It’s 44º and sunny, and all the snow is gone. We also are forecast to get that arctic blast Friday, and more snow. Our chickens hate snow……

Opened the gate this morning when cleaning and there has been a bit of chasing even Victoria chased a couple away from her bowl. For the most part each group is just keeping a bit distant from the other and no fighting so far... today may be the day!

Well everyone was a bit nervous yesterday but they did stay in the same area all day long. Come night time I waited until sunset before opening the gates to Coop Deux and Victoria and Spaetzle decided to sleep in their old place. Overall I think it went well. The weather the next few days will be horrible so we may not make much progress combining the two groups.

It got up to 55º here yesterday. At dawn, it’s 21 and dropping, with howling wind. BUT, it may not snow at all with this round! Sunday there will be another round, and temps dropping below 0….

Wind and cold is horrible here. It's gonna be a few three dog nights in a row and I only got two dogs

Our mini split heat and air unit cannot keep up with these temps. Guess we are gonna have to get a propane tank. For now we are ghetto fabulous.. running off the little tanks.
Beats freezing to death or paying out the nose for more electric heat.
