calling any one from missouri

I have 13 chickens, the oldest are 6, 7, and 8 yrs, and still laying. I do not want more but I have my 4 EE bantams that are just 1 yr old, so I'm in it for a while. And one of those little EE girls was proving to be such a stubborn broody, I have given her 1 egg to hatch (from the Spitzhauben-Sebright mix). I tried over and over to break her and gave up. I think the egg is on day 6. I haven't candled it yet, but I will today. It will be 3/4 Spitzhauben.

Ooo, Missourians! Hello fellow state-sharers!

I'm currently living under a landlord, looking for my own acreage at the time though. Had to work out a deal with him to get my current chickens. Fresh/Free eggs for him and his wife, in exchange for me keeping birds. Seemed fair. lol.

About 25 years back, I had been working on building my flocks and had plans of dedicating my life to breeding and raising rare & endangered breeds. Life had other plans, because life's a complete and utter B sometimes, and I had to part with all of my birds around 2002.

My current girls, just common breeds, nothing fancy, have reignited that flame again. I've always loved chickens, but after getting my girls, I realized just how much I missed having them. I'm currently 40, but still hoping to get (re)started with what I tried to start back when I was in my teens, once I find a bit of land to do what I want with.

Anyways, hi. My name is Fowl-Mouth and I am a chicken addict.

I'm currently around Rolla.

And yep, my account is older than some I've seen, but it seems as though all of my previous interactions were wiped after all this time.

Randomly had BYC pop into my head the other day, was happily surprised to see the site still here, and turns out my account was still here too! So I'm back! lol. Hoping to be more active here going forward.

Ok then!! Welcome back!!

I have a doe that tolerates me walking back and forth between the machine shop and she has taken up residency under the carport behind some stuff so I think she has chosen that as the spot for her fawn when it arrives. Let's see shelter, protection, food and water and an ole fart that feeds me what else could a deer want.

I think it's cool!
