calling any one from missouri

The heat is over for the year. It hit 70F at my house today and is already dropping. By next Sunday (Dec. 1) the high will be 31F and the low will be 16.
We'll hit 70 again. Probably in March or April.

Hi everybody! I am tentatively thinking about going to Missouri for about 6 months. I was wondering what the weather is like there (fitting with ya’ll talking about weather) I would be near St. Louis. I have two options to go, either January-July or July-January. I would be very grateful if you could tell me what to expect for the weather. Thanks!

It depends on if you prefer Autumn - which is lovely there - or if you prefer Spring. Either way January is or can be a brutal month with ice / snow and single digit temps. There are also many ways to celebrate Christmas if you're there in December. Whenever you go, you must take in the STL Zoo, which is rated one of the top 3 in the country. They also just had a new baby elephant birth this week I think.

What is the average temperature of January/February and July/August? I understand the times begin and end right in the middle of winter and summer so I get both for both options. What is average temperature in spring vs autumn? Sorry, I’m going to be spending a lot of time outside, so I just want to make sure I choose wisely😂

I think I’m leaning towards the one starting in July because it will be easier to find puppies (I’m training dogs) if anyone knows a good Belgian Malinois breeder in the area I’d appreciate if you’d share.

It depends on if you're going to be in the city or out more in the country settings. STL and the surrounding counties is a large region and the weather / temps can be different depending on if you're surround by concrete buildings and houses or out in the open in the hills. I haven't lived there for a decade and the weather seems to have changed since we've been gone so I would search the local news sites for recent historical averages. Try KTVI, KSDK, KMOV.
Personally, I'm an autumn person and the leaves are beautiful, depending on how much rain occurred in the spring. December tends to be more mild, February is absolutely my least favorite month due to the cold and snow and potential ice. March and April can be very changeable weather patterns as well with a lot of rain. August, it's not uncommon to hit triple digit temperatures but that typically only lasts for a short time, a week or weeks, not months.

Thanks! I will be in the country. It sounds like it would prefer the July option. I’m not decided yet though. Thank you so much!

Either way your taking a chance 🤣
July and Aug. Can get real hot and humid. Which can be real uncomfortable. But Jan/Feb you chance being here during an ice storm which could limit travel. I would opt for summer if I were you.

Yeah, it doesn’t seem that much different from Texas though😂 other than being colder. Does it rain much in the summer there?
