calling any one from missouri

Awww, poor baby! My Sammy hates storms too. He shivers like a leaf in the wind. I give him Benadryl. It helps a little. This is where he parks 'til it's over:

If I ever have another puppy I am going to make sure and start desensitizing them to thunder noises and fireworks from the get go. Medication and thunder shirts are so stupid 🤣
I never really had a dog before that was this scared of noises. So I didn't think of that till it was too late. Now I can't seem to get him over it.

I can't get out 'n about to enjoy my irises (knee issues, dr's orders to stayy off of it), but GC brought in one of my faves yesterday ...

I actually don't have any irises now that i've moved. It was summer when we moved. I didn't dig any up to take it was so hot and dry. I'm gonna get some starts from my mom this fall, she has a bunch.
The man brought me those from a road ditch somewheres.

Sammy was 1.5 year old when we got him and he was poorly socialized when we got him. He's high-strung and nervous, maybe even a bit autistic. Easily overstimulated, a nervous barker. We now have a neighbor who shoots all kinds of weapons, up to and including what sound like automatics, and it was making Sammy crazy. But there's been so much of it that he's apparently starting to get used to it, finally. Don't know if that will help with the thunder, but hoping.
