calling any one from missouri

So, guys ....

A couple of months ago I ordered a baker's dozen of baby chicks from Cackle. They won't get here until mid-July. But now it's looking like I'll still be laid up, off my feet then, and who knows how long after. Unknown if I'll need surgery on this knee. Maybe I'll know more by the end of this week ... or maybe not. I'm scheduled to see a bone specialist at the end of June. Meanwhile, I'm wheelchair bound and living in my recliner. GC says she'll take care of them, but ... frankly, not sure how dependable she'll be. Feel like I need a Plan B if it doesn't work out ...

I'm thinking I need to either cancel my order or see if anyone wants to buy them from me? What I ordered is 6 Dominique pullets, 6 black Ameraucana pullets and one black Ameraucana cockerel. I might need to keep a couple of the Am pullets and the cockerel, as I really need to replace my rooster (and hope this cockerel works out!).

Anyone here who might possibly be interested? You'd have to come here to pick up, obviously I can't drive either. I can offer overnight accommodations if you don't want to do a round trip in one day. Pm me if interested.
Considering they haven’t even begun incubating them yet, if it were me, I would just cancel the order. You don’t really need to add more stress! 🥰

I'm not getting any more chickens and when TuTu and Blondie are gone I'm finished with chickens. It was fun and challenging for sure and Blondie is still laying about every other day.

Kinda sorry to hear that, JT. But I understand. There comes a time for all of us, I guess.

Ugh. You're probably right. I'll test my GC. I'll tell her if she'll clean the poop trays every day, I'll get them. If not, I'll cancel.

The main reason I'm not getting any more chickens is how long they might live with me turning 72 this year and the Mrs turning 75 we are trying to travel more and work less. And my assistant chicken tender has a real hard time getting around so I don't like to burden him too often to take care of the hens. And we like to take short trips sometimes on a whim. The chickens probably would be OK for a couple of days and the cats are quite independent for sure.
