calling any one from missouri

Been dealing with hawk attacks. Lost 3 ducks.
Deconstructed the Cayuga pen and made a covered shelter.

Nice work on the pens. Predators can be a royal pain to deal with.

I still have Tutu the old RIR hen and Blondie but that's all. Blondie even laid an egg today and didn't eat it.

You've seen my place and all the trees and house around the chicken yard seem to keep the hawks out because they don't have room to fly in and get back out. But I've seen them not too far away where they have a clear shot at a mouse or rat they are very fast.

Yeah. We only have the one tree in the immediate back yard and now that the leaves are off the hawks had a clear shot.
Plus they dozed out the tree lines across from us so I think more hawks are sitting in our tree line now.

Plus more wind. Grrr. I wish they would leave the tree lines alone! I know farming is important too but damn.
