to her!

Thanks Fudgie!! They had a talk/meeting and now she doesn't know what to do. She thought she could have her way and still have a "perfect" life, and that no one would stop her. We love her and don't want to see her go, and we are praying to that end.

Have fun at the sale!!!!

Well, I hope things work out for the best and that she decides her family comes first. These things are very trying on the extended family also so I am sending prayers for her and her husband and all affected. Keep your family close and God closer.

As for missing the auction, Fudgie and I will conference and buy you a goat and ship it your way, that way you don't feel left out, LOL!

Since I have never been to the sale up at Schachteles what can I expect. Are their going to be chickens/roosters for sale. If so do you know what types are going to be available.

If I can talk my husband into letting me go, and you all think there's someone who'd want them, I'll bring my white japanese rooster and one of my male porcelain d'uccles. My husband has really been wanting a pygmy goat, but we haven't asked the neighbors- who tolerate our chickens- how they'd feel about it. (We live in a subdivision just barely outside the city limits-- hope they don't ever annex us--so chickens aren't illegal)

THere are all types of fowl up there. Chickens (some show quality some backyard quality) everthing you can imagine. They have pheasant (lady amerhurst and others) they have turkeys, ducks, geese, quail, cages, cattle panels, STUFF, pies and cookies, goats, horses, cattle, piggies. there is not guarantee of anything specific but you can guarantee there will be stuff there.

PS: We are bringing Barred rock bantams hens and roos 2 months old or so

Hey FUDGIE and Panther Creek Poultry, I had a great time at the auction yesterday. It was a lot of fun. I was a bit surprised at all of the different stuff that was being auctioned. I think there may have even been a kitchen sink there.

I was a bit dissapointed that I was not able to get one of those pairs of Hamburgs but that's ok. I guess that other guy wanted them a lot more than I did.
I am excited about the three Jersey Giants that I got. Panther Creek Poultry I would be interested in seeing some photos of your Jerseys if you have any that you could post. I also brought home a Buff Polish Roo at the incouraging of my wife. She thought he was really cute and no one was bidding on him. I spent most of today building a temporary coop to keep him in while I wait the four weeks that is recomended before mixing him into my flock. I have the little Jerseys in a brooder box in the basement they seem to be comfortable. They settled in and napped then they chirp and move around. They are eating good!

I can see how easy it is to spend a lot of money at the auction. I was able to control most of my impulses but next time it may not be so easy My wife really liked the rabbits, especially the little Lion Faced ones. She wanted one but I kept telling her that we had nothing ready for a rabbit so I got away this time;).....It was nice to meet both of you! I must admit you are the first BYC'ers that I have met. I hope to be able to meet more in the near future.

The drive up to the auction took about two and a half hours. It was a little longer than what I thought but not too bad. It takes me that long to drive to The Lake of the Ozarks and my wife never minds that drive.
