calling any one from missouri

I didn't see the one in Keytesville in time. Darn. I have had a few responses to my Craigs list ad. I am gonna keep spreading the word about wanting a new rooster and hopefully something will happen.

We did borrow an incubator from a friend today and are going to try and hatch out some BB Red bantams. Bought a pair at a swap meet in Boonville and they are so cute. Rooster is gorgeous yet a quiet crower.

Isn't it strange how often we end up with too many roosters but when I want one, I can't find one.

Found a lady that has a brabanter rooster. I understand that they are very rare in the US. Will try and get together with her later this week. It has never been handled though so don't really know what to expect.

Anyone ever been to the Jacob's Cave swap meet at the Lake of the Ozarks? I heard about it a few weeks ago. I was told its so big that you need a 4 wheeler, tractor, etc to get around. I guess there is another one the first weekend in June.

Haven't been there yet. I've got so many eggs and chicks either here or expected I'm taking a break for a bit on the swaps and locking in a processor. I'm sure I'll be loaded with roos within a couple months. Only extra I have right now is a partridge Silkie. Sweet as can be, but doesn't fit in any of the breeding projects we've got going.

Of the swaps I've been to so far, you should be able to find something. Lots of roos there.

Jacobs Cave is fun, it's got a lot of flea market booths, there is food and drink and all sorts of small animals besides poultry. There are some larger breeders there as well as individuals. The next meet is in June, they had one over Easter weekend and then there will be one in the fall. I have never sold there but if I have several young ones not sold of my olive eggers and EE's, then I may go one day to sell in June.

Good Afternoon, all!

We are trying to wrap up the LORE project, so I present to you a contest: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=332976

My name is Clay and I live in Buffalo. In addition to turkeys, I raise Ameraucana chickens. I have 3 roosters. They are a year old, but couldn’t tell you if they are vaccinated or not.

My Great-Grandparents retired in Buffalo, boy had it grown last time I was there. You know where the golf course is on the highway headin to Springfield, they lived on that road.
