I think I've posted on this thread before, but I'm also from Missouri. I'm in the Southeastern part of the state... near Poplar Bluff.

I sometimes attend the Fordland Swap outside of Springfield and hope to attend the Fruitland Swap this spring and summer.

My computer is acting up and will not let me on the internet. So using my sons computer before he goes to work. My youngest son and I are headed out to look at the Brabanter rooster. I know that i am taking a risk due to the Marek's issue but my son knows this going in. Once we get a rooster, I will have the flock the way I want it. I really miss the morning wake up calls. My BB red bantam crows but very quietly.

Put two eggs in the incubator yesterday. They are the bb red bantams. Mom and dad are so cute.


I will post pics of the new roo if we take him.

New to BYC and somewhat new to Missouri. Moved here in Aug of 03 from Germany when my husband was stationed here at fort Leonard Wood. My husband retired this past January and Missouri is home for now. I finally convinced him I needed chicken. Actually I went to the store when he was at work one day and he came home to them. Now he is building the coop and seem to have adjusted well to the addition of 11 pullets and 1 roo.
