calling any one from missouri

Missy3b, when I want to let them get used to each other, I put them in a small pen inside the larger yard. Leave them that way for a few weeks and then start to let them out an hour before they would go to roost. That way you can observe them and they dont have long enough to cause a bloodbath. Let them out earlier and earlier, gradually, kinda easing them in. That is what has worked for me.

I believe the intention is to become an ongoing thing.

That would nice. Who is organizing the event? The reason I ask... if you do a google search for Fordland Poultry Swap or Fruitland Poultry Swap, my pages for those events are the first or second link that show up. I could make one for the Monett swap to get some internet advertising for that event. I get about 12,000 unique visitors to my site a month. And a lot of those people are from the Ozarks region. Just a thought. Let me know and I can put a page up for the event.

Scott If you wanted to put this information on there it would help it.

It will be the 3rd Saturday of each month.

It looks like the Nevada swap will be at the old school near the sale barn, the same place it was last time.

It is May 23rd the fourth weekend of the month on Sunday.

The swap was not much. It was very similar to the one there in Nevada, but was probably a little smaller and slower.
I did pretty good though sold 47 young chickens and was able to leave by 10:00.

I have a couple nice little 6 week old blue cochin pullets left, and should be getting some more younger 2-3 week old chicks tomorrow.

I hear there is a little feed store in Reeds, Mo down by Carthage that is going to try to have a swap on Saturday. When I get more information I'll let you guys know.

I am from Springfield area. I just stumbled upon this site doing a google search about Black Copper marans. I am glad to see their are so many more like me in the world. I have goats, rabbit, dogs, cats, and of course chickens. I am just starting again with my chickens though. Looking to network with others about farm animals. Looks like I came to the right place.
