I went to the state fair on the second day, there were some good looking birds there.

Thanks for the information,I am going to try to make a few shows up that way.I already have shows planned in Arkansas,Louisiana, and Oklahoma so it may be a busy winter.

I am on the look out for two female BB Red bantams. I hatched out two roos early this Spring and now they are mating with their mother.

Time to get them their own gals. I bought the original pair at a swap in Boonville (fairgrounds) and we love them. If you know of anyone that has some, please let me know.

Has anyone dubbed their roos before? After searching the internet, I decided to wait until the end of the moon cycle because they are supposed to bleed less. Only doing it on my BB Red Bantam roos becuae my son wants to show them. So I have a few weeks to work up the nerve to do it.

Went to an Amish auction yesterday in Clark and my son wanted to get some bantams. Unfortunately, after being there for 4 hours, they still had not got to the poultry. Disappointing but still fun to go see.

Anyone know of any swap meets going on the rest of the month?

Missy

Thanks again to Craig's list, we found two female BB Red bantams. Brought them home and my teenage BB Red roos were all aflutter.

I still would like to go to some swaps though. My youngest says there is no such thing as too many chickens.

Hello to all the Show-Me friends. I am about 30 minutes southwest of St. Louis and new to the site and chickens in general. So far, so good. Waiting on eggs, but should be soon. I don't have hatch dates to know for sure, but they should be close. Glad to meet you all ;o)
