Not that it won't be packed but I will be at Jacobs cave next year with some chicks to sell in the spring. Hopefully some silkie chicks to sell by then too.

Hello all! Just read through what I've missed as this last week and weekend were quite busy on. I've been getting about 1 egg a day from my 9 ladies. I have even been using a light. We typically don't free range but the 1 day last weekdend we did I ended up getting a Polish egg! The forst in about 2 months! So maybe the extra light and the free range did some good. I want to free range everyday but am afraid the neighbors dogs will get to them. Will the roo keep them at bay??

I have covered runs for that reason... The neighbors dogs!

I let mine free range when I can be out there with them because they love it and I like to watch them but I cant do that very often.

We have a covered run too but there are no green things left in there for them to eat! I know it's fall and all the green things are dying off but the rest of our yard is still green. I guess they're ok without it since they have the feed. I just think they are happier and lay better when they get to go out!
