Got our first Porcelain egg today(legit from knowing who mated with her) My son was determined to let our cochin have it so we will see. I figure I will let the hen have some and the bator and see who has better results.

I bought the cutest t-shirt from the backyard poultry(the magazine) website. It says "Have you hugged your chicken today?" My teenage son said "Please don't wear it to school". Heaven forbid I embarass him. That means I will definitely wear it.

Teddi- yes the roo is nice to us, just seems to seek out my other roos looking for trouble. For now, he is fine. He is so darn good lookin.

Stepped outside today and heard a strange sound like a crow cawwing. The dog and I both looked around to see what it was. Turns out one of our phoenixes is learning to crow. LOVE THAT!

The St. Louis craigslist area is full of cages & hutches, but some cost alot.

Welcome! And look what I got from Estes hatchery in the mail today.....which my husband so nicely picked up for me during his lunch hour since I was home with my two ill children. I think they are giving me whatever it is they've had all week.
