davony's chicks :

tedzilla-- I hope your hatch is coming along. It looks like I have 11 out of 14 that are still developing. I hope nothing happens to mess this hatch up!

Good luck!

I actually did candle the other day and still have 21 good eggs, with next Tuesday their due date. One of my mille's went broody so I let her keep 6 eggs, which will be due 3weeks from the 13th.

My chickens haven't died yet from eating the green paint, but one of my hens was acting goofy like she lost track of time and forgot to go back in the coop. So, I'm thinking they'll be fine.

By the way, welcome to all the newcomers!

I have salmon favorelle and speckled Sussex from Estes hatchery in the brooder, and am liking the Sussex calm demeanor.

Hello everyone!

We are in House Springs, in Jefferson County, Missouri, about 40-45 minutes southwest of St. Louis city.

We are raising 6 ducks, setting 6 sebastopol geese eggs tomorrow and will also try to hatch some guinea fowl this year.

There is a local meetup group for the St. Louis area (although I dont think geography is a requirement).

http://www.meetup.com/stlouischickens/

It is nice to talk about local concerns, give tips on where to buy different things, members have split the 25 min chick order, etc.

PS
My chicks are due to hatch March 25, I candled and I think I have 4 viable, I am so excited.
