calling any one from missouri

Hello everyone! I just ♥ this beautiful weather. I just wanted to hop in and ask if anyone is going to the Heartland Classic Poultry Association show in Cape Girardeau, Mo this Sat. I am thinking I may try to go, just to check it out. I have never been to a poultry show before. Looks like the weather will be wet this weekend, so I won't be able to work on my outdoor projects anyways. Let me know if you are going, maybe we can meet up. Have a great day everyone!

what's kickin´chicken :

..I ordered my chicks and had them vac. for marek's,and I don't think the feed store or TSC does that so I have been trying to be good....... but I'm losing my will power.....so what do you guys think about the marek vac. is it really that important?,if the chickens get it will I have to just cull the TSC chickens??? should I stay strong or does it matter that much..We had respir. problems before and was really hard,so I was trying to start out better this time.Last time I got my chickens from swap,so I don't want to go down or anywhere around that road again

I'm reposting my question I hope you don't mind...but I've been reading alot today about marek and now I'm really scared...and needed some insight, should I vac these chicks for it or is it too late they are 1 week old now?........how big of a problem is it in our area or is it everywhere?

dont worry about it, most poultry diseases are realy pretty uncommon. it does happen but not that often.

if you vac. for 1 thing, either something else will pop up or you'll spend all your money on vaccinations.

i have never vaccinated for marecks, or a lot of other diseases. never had a problem till a few years ago. then it only went thru about 10-15 birds and i took care of it with meds.
not even real sure what it was, but the state inspected me several times after that with all negative results.

oh yeah, 2 WEEKS TO JACOBS CAVE!

3 days of driving, walking, buying, selling, tradeing, and hopefully sleeping somewhere in there. looks like the weather is going to be beautiful.

if your going, look for a silver ford with okie tags. stop and say hi.
