Sorry if you're question has been answered already? In skimming through I didn't see a response. It's not a difficult process at all. Contact Tony Perryman at 573-526-7777. On the day of testing, have all of your birds caged. He will blood test each one and you'll know the results immediately. If all's well, from that point on buy all new stock from other NPIP breeders only. Your birds will be retested yearly.
Hope that helps?!

Once you are in the Npip program, you will get a book on sanitation practices and the different diseases that are monitored. You will be given a book of Npip vs9-3 forms which allows you to comply with many states requirements for selling hatching eggs/birds in their state. Some states still require you contact them for a permit. Missouri also wants you to track sales of your birds/eggs so that they can locate any outbreak sources. The nice thing if you show your birds, is that you only have to show a copy of your annual test results instead of having your birds tested at every show.

Thanks for answering. Hope you would answer a few more specific questions. I have the paperwork, but stalled on answering a few questions. It asks for a list of breeds 'offered for sale'. I don't sell any birds or eggs yet, but plan to. Do I leave it blank or answer non-currently.. or list what I hope to sell next spring?

It also asks for outside source of birds and hatching eggs. I have swapped for eggs with BYC members, do I list each person? I can see I will have to stop swapping for eggs once I am NPIP, unless the other person is also NPIP...darn, that has been fun and a great way to add variety to my flock.

Oh I know..stinks that we can only swap with other NPIP participants. Limits us somewhat but hopefully ensures we're getting disease free birds. I don't want to tell you wrong so I would give them a ring and ask how to answer those few questions. I had to list every bird I had, whether selling that breed or not. I wouldn't get too concerned about listing every single source if there's a lot. Maybe just the few main sources, especially since this is your first time. Most people probably wouldn't remember or keep record of all that info, especially if the didn't have intentions of being testing.
