Calling Coop Engineers - Cut Slope Build

I hear you, but would rather be directly against the slope to try and gain some geothermal effect ( cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter), though the risk of excess moisture is worrisome...I have a bunch of 3x4 landscape ties that I'll likely use.

Other than the obvious structural and moisture aspects, does any one see any issue with exit at the top and 35 ish degree ramp over 6 verticle feet? How high will your general hen fly/leap up? 4 ft?

Not at all. When that door opens they will be clamoring to get out to eat all that tasty wheatgrass.
If you can... start your ramp low to avoid injury in the close quarters of your proposed coop. Maybe wrap the ramp around a few walls to a staging area at the top (at the door) where they can congregate in the morning and evening.

I like your geothermal ideas.
