I am getting keets hatching out with this pattern. In your experience does this mean pied or pinto or either one? My first year of getting this much white on keets and I haven't ever had the pattern broken across the back. This is a new project pen and I found it interesting to have this pattern hatch out.

And thank you for your wisdom!

Looks to me like just a normal variation to the partially-pearled down pattern, it should fill in with colored feathers in a couple of weeks (I'll try to go thru a bunch of my hatch pics and see if I have pics of any partially-pearled keets with their markings broken on the back of the neck like that).

Do you have Pied or Pinto adults in that project pen? If so, the keets like that may feather out as Pied, but usually the patch of markings on the top of the head is noticeably narrower (and they grow in some white flights as soon as they start growing feathers).

I'm pretty sure to be considered Pintos they would have to have a lot less body and head color/markings... but if they keep that break in the markings as the feather out and mature it's definitely something different, especially on a partially-pearled bird.

Thank you!
Yes, I have pieds I am breeding in that pen but these are more white than I have ever gotten so I wondered if it meant anything else.
They remind me a bit of Bronze keets but I was told my bird was not a Bronze but rather a Royal Purple. These keets are out of the pen with that bird.
