Calluses on Claws?

My Japanese bantam hen has odd callus like things on her claws. I think it is dirt caked on. None of my other birds have it. I tired pulling them off and she pulled her feet away, but didn't make a sound so I don't think it hurt. What should I do?

Soak her feet in warm water. It will take a while, but you should be able to gradually break up the debris that has built up on her feet. If you try to pull them off, you may actually tear off her toenails.
