We had a new small chain grocery store open here. It's one of those stores that has a lot of off brands and that type of thing. I was checking out the turkeys when I saw they had Capons! We've been trying to find one forever. So that's what we'll have for Thanksgiving this year. It weighed in a 8 lbs - it's frozen. From a farm in MN. Wonder what breed it is?

How should I cook it? I can't wait to try it!

Im thinking the breed is probably an ordinary cornish x.I think capons are a bit more tender then most chicken so dont cook it for too long. How much did it cost?

They are Cornish x Rocks unless they say otherwise. We shelled out the extra money once at our grocery store to try capon. Now I want a caponizing kit. It was very, very, very good, and worth the extra money. Now I need to know how much better it will taste if raised at home.

Ohh I was on Stromberg hatcheries site the other day and saw a caponing kit for a decent price(I think). It has all the tools you need and comes with a book about caponing I wish I could do it too quail but I think there way to small.
