Had a question asked about llama noises:
Llamas are overall not noisey, you would hear more noise from chickens than llamas. But they are vocal enough and body language to get there point across. Llamas basically make 4 noises:
1. a low humm which can have different pitch according to what there interest is in, this is the most used niose, which is not loud or can not be hear very far.
2. Alert call- this is a high pitched squeal, not heard very often
3. Squel, this is a high pitched scream, usually make during a fight (like 2 adult males fighting, but NOT just 2 llamas arguing)
4. called orgling, this is grunt noise that males make during breeding.
I do not have any videos of mine, but I did find this sound board:
BUT the first ( llama groans) does not sounds like a llama to me.
Clip 1 & 2 are alright, but seem loud, must have been right in the microphone.
Clip 3,4 ,5 are the alert calls
Clip 6 sounds like a llama loooking for others
Clip7,8 9 are a male "orgling" (breeding)
