We have a Golden Campine roo in with 2 Silver hens. The hens are laying very thin shelled and mis-shaped eggs most of the time. We use Blue Seal layer pellets and crumbles and all our other birds eggs are excellent quality. We want to raise Campines but with thin shells and mis-shapen eggs we are not having any success. Are Campines prone to egg problems? Has anybody else had this problem and are there any remedies? We have recently added oyster shell to their feed and are hoping that improves the overall quality of the eggs.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

The hens are about a year old and we do feed them vegetables now and then. We just started giving them oyster shell about a week ago and they are off and on layers. we won't see eggs for a few days and then we'll get one or two a day for a week or so and they go like that. We are hoping that the oyster shell makes all the difference.
