Camping food ideas anyone?!?!

No, that's to far from where I am. We usually camp at Hanging Rock State Park, which is along the Blue Ridge Pkwy. It's beautiful there and there's a lot of hiking trails, which we like to do a lot of.

You can buy vegi. hotdogs! They're good too! Look in the freezer section at your local supermarket.

Has anyone mentioned Smores yet?

Slide a piece of dark chocolate inside the middle of a big marshmallow, roast, then sandwich between two homemade chocolate chip cookies

The OP said a group of kids were going. It's been my experience that a group of kids is way louder than any bells. Stick with the kids and no self respecting bear will bother you.

You all have no idea! I am taking 5, yes 5!, kids camping! lol! We've never been bothered by the bears before.

ha-ha! I went to Kennicott & McCarthy with 50 7th & 8th graders. There was bear scat every 10 feet but we never saw a single bear. Go figure! It's funny, hiking through the woods in Alaska is the one place I have NEVER gotten a funny look from strangers about my kids being really loud. We get asked from time to time by strangers if they can hike with us.
