So my husband and I both came down with it, two weeks apart so we didn't get it from each other. The only thing we can connect is that we both ate sunnyside up eggs and got attacked by the rooster about 2-4 days before getting sick. We're fairly certain that our chickens have it.

My questions are 1) How do we tell for sure if they have it? and 2) What do we do about it?

Have you talked to your doctor about this? When there is an outbreak of ecoli they can test the strains to see if they are the same. Can they do that with this?
