It is?? I weighed up compared to the ones from the grocery store so I thought it was small. Maybe the egg is to big for her? Does this put her at risk for egg binding?

My duck eggs weigh that much but it’s not super large for some chicken breeds. I wouldn’t worry too much, I think she’ll be fine. I had a golden comet lay a 93 gram egg last year and that BIG for a chicken.

That egg size is on par with my new layers, on the Medium size of the egg scale I’ve seen posted around here. I have heard some birds grunt a little but I figured it was just them working the egg out. I typically don’t move them but wait for them to move so I don’t know what’s normal after they have laid. I don’t think you have any issues with your birdie but I’m not a vet so obviously that’s just my speculation.

Today she was much better. Now she has another chicken trying to get in her box while she is laying. Just when I resolve one problem I get another lol.
