can 4.5 week chicks go outside all day

My littles are growing so very fast they are 4.5 weeks old. I have built them a secure cage outside, as my big hens are in the coop. It is 63 now and will be 73 as a high today. Can t hey stay outside for most of the day as its sunny, a little windy but not bad, then I will bring them in around 6:30 at night or it that too long? For the last week or so Ive let them go out from 2-6:30.

they can regulate their temperature as soon as they are fully feathered. Before then, you need to provide a heat source they can use if they want to.

Hi there! Are they mostly feathered? They will let you know if they are too cold .. they'll pipe up and "complain". I would let them if I were you and I don't think that's too long either. Seems like your off to a good start anyway!

Just keep an eye on them to begin with. Like others have said, they’ll let you know if they’re too cold.

If they're fully weaned off heat they can go all day with no problem. Make sure their chick area has some shelter against wind/sun/rain.

Wait till week 6 then for sure they are fully feathered. It's better to be safe then sorry
