Well basically the title says it all. Can 6 and half week old chickens go outside when the highs are 78 and lows of 60 degrees Fahrenheit?

I think they should be able to, chicks go out in colder, but it depends if they are fully feathered. With heat lamp chicks & most breeds that's usually by 7 or 8 weeks old. So you could maybe wait another few days or week to be sure. But they shouldn't freeze to death if that's what you're asking, that's plenty warm. How do they look? Are they feathered out?

Actually, I just realized, are you asking if they can move outside permanently or just go out during the day? My answer was addressing the former but if you just mean some play time outside, then yes that is plenty warm enough. Some people have had broodies with chicks in like winter (not recommended but sometimes happens) and they had little day old chicks running around in snow. Chickens are very hardy animals. Just use common sense and don't let them get too chilled.

Ok thank you! Yes they are feathered. In about 10 days though the lows go down to the low 40s. They will be 8 weeks then so would they be able to still be outside? I am pretty sure they can because most people say they can face whatever temps at 8 weeks.

Yes, they are my first chicks
