If it's the Sprout brand feed, the protein is low. You can add some Nyger seeds to bring it up. For chicks, you'll want to up their greens and calcium, so mix in rabbit pellets and crushed eggshell.

I stopped feeding my birds the Sprout brand - it made their poo just foul

I mix my own feed now and it doesn't stink nearly as much. However, I only have a few birds.

Sadly my tractor supply stores onlysell game bird feed in Dumor, everything else is crap laying mash for hens (basically just corn). Or sweetfeed.
