New to quail, just hatched these babies yesterday. Can anyone tell me what their colors are? They hatched from both Celadon and Jumbo Coturnix eggs (although not sure which came from which) 😅 Thanks!

The dark ones with bright colored eyebrows are probably one Rosetta and one Tibetan, the two medium brown stripes ones look like Pharaoh? Five of the light ones look like Italians, the two with the least amount of stripes might be Pearl. The one that looks black and white is Tuxedo but he’s hiding so I can’t tell what base color!

I’m by no means an expert but I’ve been hatching a lot of my own this year, at least it’ll give you somewhere to start? I’ve used Silver Homestead and Pips n Chicks to get an idea of what I’ve got. Thieving Otter Farms, and Myshire Farms all have good photos of chicks and the adults they turn into for the color lines they have as well, many Celadons have a ton of different color genetics. Gorgeous little birds!

Jumbo (size) and celadon (egg color) are not related to feather color in quail. Overall yellow chicks with thin black stripes are usually Italian/fawn. Overall brownish chicks with black stripes are usually wild/pharaoh. The reddish brown ones without bold striping are usually Rosettas. Tibetans (homozygous eb) are usually black with yellow eyebrows and black feet. Cute batch!
