I was watching my chick hatch, but the broody wasnt sitting, she was just standing up, looking at it like she was unsure what to do. Then she pecked it. I thought maybe she was trying to help it out of its shell, but she started pecking really hard, and stepping on it. the poor chick was screaming, so I took him out and put him in the brooder. That probably wasnt the right thing to do, but I panicked! what do I do now? he seems kind of weak?!

You definitely did the right thing. Maybe give him some water with sugar in it for energy. Not sure about the hen, was this her first clutch?

My broody ate 2 pipping live chicks. I took the batch away and only hatched 3 out of the 5 that were not eaten. :(.

I'd take all the other eggs inside too.

My broody was bound and determined to eat all the "pipping" chicks. When I walked in, 2 were eaten and one was in the process of being eaten. She was flinging the chick in the air. The chick was injured, but fully recovered! I no longer have that broody btw.
